Peer Review

National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBOCAP)

Mr Smith is the Senior Clinical Analyst for the National Bowel Cancer Audit Programme and as such the West Middlesex has been submitting data on its patient outcomes to the programme since 2003. Ileal Pouch Registry

The West Middlesex also submits data to the National Pouch Registry - full details HERE. Reports are not yet produced for this registry, but will be published online when they are.

UK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Audit

The West Middlesex also submits its dat for patient with IBD (both medical & surgical patients) - full details of the audit and its results can be found HERE.

National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA)

All emergency laparotomies are submitted to NELA - Latest report for this site - HERE

Research and Publications

The department is actively involved in surgical research on a local, national & international level. The research is based mainly on risk and patient outcomes in the field of colorectal surgery.
